Million $ March

Learn how you can help save a life while saving money buying or selling your home

This Easter, you can help bring someone back to life

Back2life $140 per year, or about 38 cents per day—that’s all it costs to keep someone alive now with AIDS medication in developing countries. For another 16 cents per day, you can keep a child alive based on estimates in a recent front page story in the New York Times: Slowly, Africa Starts to Care for AIDS Children.

In contrast, thousands of homeowners across Massachusetts save millions  every year by selling their own homes "for sale by owner," and real estate rebates are becoming more common for buyers and sellers according to the Wall Street Journal.  So is it unrealistic to talk about raising $1 million dollars between now and World AIDS Day, December 1st, 2006 to provide shelter subsidies for AIDS orphans?  That’s the goal of the Million Dollar March.  In time, we hope that an industrywide coalition of traditional and new moneysaving real estate businesses join ASAP (AIDS Shelter Alliance Partners) to create a multi-million dollar annual fundraising campaign.  Are we dreaming?  Not if ASAP can tap into the wealth created by the $2 trillion dollar a year residential real estate industry, and industry changes estimated to deliver billions annually in consumer savings.

To learn how you can maximize your savings now, email [email protected] or call us at 617-661-4046.  If we help you save thousands of dollars by selling your own home or working with a new moneysaving real estate business model to buy or sell a home, will you help bring someone back to life this Easter?

Welcome to the Million $ March

Wtc_millionf2f1Between March 1st and December 1st, World AIDS Day 2005, a number of real estate companies across the country are participating in the first annual "Million $ March," a friendly competition to see who can save their clients $1 million and help raise money for non-profit organizations fighting the AIDS pandemic.

Learn how you can save $10,000 or more buying or selling your home, and at the same time help save a life or provide a shelter subsidy for AIDS orphans on Saturday, April 23rd at the "Unite Against AIDS" Summit at the Harvard Science Center.

The Real Estate Cafe's mission is to teach 50 to 100 sellers in Greater Boston how to save $1 million in commissions by selling their own homes or working with a new generation of fee-for-service real estate consultants and discount MLS listing services.  Our twin goals are to:

1. Help each seller save an average of $10,000 to $20,000, and

2. Raise money for FacetoFaceAIDS.org and other non-profits to provide shelter subsidies for AIDS orphans through ASAP, AIDS Shelter Alliance Partners.

If you're thinking of selling your home this spring, join us for one of our upcoming "For Sale By Owner" seminar entitled, "FSBOs on Steroids."

If you'd prefer to work with a traditional real estate agent, we can also help you save money, and you can now take your rebate in cash or travel gift certificates. To learn more, call 617-661-4046 or email [email protected].

(Footnote:  The Real Estate Cafe is currently competing against two other companies, one in Milwaukee, WI and another in Austin, TX. Other real estate companies, both traditional and new online business models, are also invited to learn more about joining our friendly competition entitled the "Million $ March.")
